Open-source software (OSS) is now a standard among Linux users. Code from OSS offerings makes up between 80% and 90% of the enterprise’s code. This increases the number of CVEs system administrators must cope with. Among the most critical CVEs are those associated with database software that uses MySQL. This article looks at these CVEs and highlights ways to protect against them.
Hackers consistently look for vulnerabilities in enterprise systems, large and small. When found, these cybercriminals exploit the vulnerabilities, which often leads to fines and penalties. Most critically, breaches affect the enterprise for years to come. For example, trust between partnerships, like that of contractors and vendors, might erode, leaving your business scrambling for replacements. Although many larger organizations absorb customer loss due to this eroded trust, regaining a strong customer base might take years for smaller organizations. In the following articles we offer advice on how to protect your organisation from specific attacks and avoid hidden costs of a data breach.
Enterprise users should be fully aware of the security risks and ensure their operational efficiency. Improving processes like maintenance and switching to live patching tools if not yet using them is a step in the right direction. Find more research around these topics in our latest blog posts:
