Arch Linux 2023.08.01 Available with Linux Kernel 6.4 and Archinstall 2.6

The new version of Arch Linux ISOs, 2023.08.01, is now publicly available to download from the official website. Released on 2023 August 1, this release includes the latest kernel series Linux kernel 6.4, ensuring better hardware support and improved compatibility.

Furthermore, this version comes with the latest stable Archinstall 2.6 text-based installer, packed with many features and improvements, including Hyprland support and Limine modem support. In addition, it includes a new partitioning section, separate /boot and /boot/esp via XBOOTLDR in systemd-boot, and a few language support (Estonian and Traditional Chinese).

Lastly, the latest ArchLinux installer undergoes many bug fixes, improving support for the i3 WM profile, Sway WM, disk encryption, and Python 3.11.

The latest package versions released during July 2023 have also been included in the new Arch Linux ISO snapshot to provide users with the best possible hardware support for new installations, especially for those encountering hardware issues with previous Arch Linux ISOs.

New users who want to install this new version can get Arch Linux 2023.08.01 ISOs from the official website. While existing Arch Linux users can run the following update command to keep their installations up-to-date with the latest version available.

$ sudo pacman -Syu
